Ways to Give

Your tax-deductible gifts to Westminster Canterbury Foundation help fund the Fellowship Program and enhance healthcare excellence, wellness and memory support programming, pastoral care, performing and studio arts, the Child Development Center and workforce development. Unrestricted gifts enable the Foundation Board to direct your support toward the most pressing needs. You may give to the Fellowship Program, Area of Greatest Need, or to Share Your Passion. We are grateful for your generosity!

Our giving year matches the calendar year. We welcome multi-year pledges. To make a new pledge, send the following information to Westminster Canterbury Foundation or call 804-264-6066.

Making a tax-advantaged gift by donating stock is easy and quick. Donors transferring stock pay no capital gains tax or brokers’ sales commission. The amount of the deduction is based on the stock’s fair market value on the date the shares transfer to Westminster Canterbury Foundation. The average of the high and low prices on that day determines fair market value.

The Charitable IRA Rollover is permanent. How does it work?

  • If you are 70½ or older, you can give up to $100,000 directly from your IRA to charities such as Westminster Canterbury Foundation.
  • The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your tax deductions.
  • If you have not taken your required minimum distribution for the year, your IRA charitable rollover gift can satisfy all or part of that requirement.

You can also make Westminster Canterbury Foundation the beneficiary of your IRA.

For more information, contact Westminster Canterbury Foundation at 804-264-6066.
